Happy 110th birthday Uncle Walt. We all miss you. The Imagineers (and wannabe Imagineers), the dreamers, the artists, the animators, the lovers of Disney.
Apple’s Marketing, Clarified

After last Wednesday’s Apple event I was browsing their new iPad web site and a few things confused me. First off they are calling the new display on the iPad a retina display, which of course is a no brainer, but from what I understood a retina display has to have enough pixels per inch so that the individual pixels cannot be distinguished by a human retina. This number, as Steve said when he intoduced the iPhone 4, is just over 300 ppi. The other detail that perplexed me was the fact that they are now calling the camera on the back of the iPad (and upon further inspection the iPhone’s rear camera as well) an iSight camera. This was especially puzzling because the forward facing cameras in the Intel Macs used to be called iSight cameras before undergoing a name change recently, becoming FaceTime and FaceTime HD cameras.
iPad 3/iPad HD Event Rumors and Predictions

I thought I would throw together a little rumor round-up/my predictions for the Apple Event tomorrow, as is customary to do, so here we go.
Introducing Spire
Spire is my (along with Ryan Petrich) new tool for installing Siri on previously unsupported, but jailbroken, devices. Spire is a small download, but while installing it will download Siri itself (directly from Apple). Spire is available in Cydia right now — go get it! This will use about 100…

Today I lost a friend. She was an amazing person, a great trumpet player, a motivating section leader, kind-hearted, beautiful, and young. She went too young. She had cancer at 19 years old and it’s just not fair. Now she is in heaven with Jesus. She is smiling down on us. I miss you Kelsey, but I’ll see you again soon.

Universe Dented

I feel like I have lost a close friend. Steve was an amazing person and had an ability to connect with his costumers and fans. I have watched “Pirates of Silicon Valley,” and almost all of Jobs’ keynotes numerous times. I feel like I knew him and I hoped someday to meet him at an Apple event and or eventually work for him, but now that day will never come. I will never get to shake the hand of one of my idols. My hero.
Rest in peace, Steve Jobs.
Here are some of the best tributes to him from around the web (created on one of Steve’s NeXT computers).

Apple “Let’s talk iPhone” Event: Rumor Round-Up
This is the third time I’ve re-written this rumor round-up/predictions for the Apple “Let’s talk iPhone” event that is happening tomorrow at 10am PDT on Apple’s campus in Cupertino. I’m only including what I think Apple will release tomorrow based on very recent rumors. These rumors have been really weird in the run-up to this event, from a tapered iPhone 5 to only an iPhone 4S. Hit the break for the rumors and my predictions.
